performed on the magical acoustics of the Igreja de
Santiago, in the castle of Palmela, Portugal. The

ECM Records
have just released a
disc dedicated to the music of Estonian composer
Erkki-Sven Tüür, featuring "Ardor" - a concerto for
marimba and orchestra written for and dedicated to
Pedro Carneiro. This marks Carneiro's first
collaboration with the prestigious german label.
"Ardor" is given a powerful rendition in this
recording with Carneiro and the Estonian National
Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Olari Elts. For
information on the CD, please visit the disc's page
at the ECM Records
website. Carneiro's
second collaboration with ECM is scheduled for
November this year, with the recording in Berlin of
Michael Mantler's "Marimba/Vibraphone Concerto", a
work scored for soloist (on marimba and vibes
simultaneously) and chamber orchestra. Click below
